Make, mature, and multiply followers of Jesus Christ at home and abroad.

Vision

Sussex County Bible Church will be a loving community of disciples who are growing together toward Christlikeness, while being mobilized to lead and serve like Christ at home and abroad.
We envision people who are far from God being reconciled to Him as they come to understand and believe the good news about Jesus Christ

We envision followers of Christ who are growing in their desire to know God more deeply through His Word and prayer.
We envision lives being transformed as evidenced by growth in radical obedience, unreserved surrender to Christ and demonstrable faith.

We envision people who are growing in holiness as evidenced by their overcoming trials, troubles, sins and offenses.
We envision people moving into ministry and leadership inside and outside of SCBC.

We envision a church that is growing in the gospel and through the multiplication of local churches at home and abroad.

Values

  • Biblical Authority: The Bible will be our sole and final authority in all matters of faith and practice (John 17:17; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:20-21)
  • Sound Doctrine: We will consistently teach and diligently defend sound doctrine. (Titus 2:1-10; Jude 1:3)
  • Prayer Dependent: We will demonstrate our dependence upon God through prayer. (Ps. 145:18; 1 Thess. 5:17; Col. 4:2; James 5:16)
  • Gospel-centered Discipleship: We will make disciples and lead them to maturity through the proclamation and teaching of the gospel. (Phil. 4:9; Col. 1:28; 2 Tim. 2:2)
  • Loving Community: We will be a loving community of committed disciples who take responsibility for one another’s growth toward maturity in Christ. (Gal. 6:2)
  • Strong Families: We will equip and strengthen families to flourish according to God’s good design as revealed in His Word. (Deut. 6:4-E9; Eph. 5:22-6:4; 1 Pet. 3:1-7)
  • Mobilized Membership: We will equip and mobilize every member to serve and lead like Christ. (1 Cor. 12:12-31; Eph. 4:11-13)
  • Mission Focused: We will carry out the great commission mandate at home and abroad and will partner with churches and ministries of like-faith who desire to do the same. (Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; Rom. 10:13-15; Rev. 7:9-10)
